Kennedy and heed the warning of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. that healing our nation starts with us. Each of us must personally seek to find what unites us and foster that, bond with it, build upon it, so that we can move forward to a better place for us all.

Regaining Your Footing: Finding Stability and Security After a Workplace Violence Event will be held October 23 at Harrisburg University from 6 – 8 pm.

Violence against nurses is an epidemic. In the past decade, there has been a 110% spike in the rate of violent incidents reported against healthcare workers. Nearly 24,000 physical assaults in the workplace occur every year, with almost 75% affecting healthcare providers. More than 20% of RNs and nursing students report that they have been physically assaulted. According to the American Nurses Association, more than half of those nurses experienced verbal abuse within the last year. In many cases, violence is perpetrated by patients or their family members.
