BD has an extensive portfolio of automated microbiology solutions. They wanted to change their focus from feature-driven movies, to captivate their audience with an emotionally driven message, linked to their brand and mission. Highlighting the patient and the sense of urgency and always linking back to the technicians and the lab who manage the situations.INSIGHTS
It was extremely important to keep the storytelling and emotional angles alive. A message that people could relate to. Understand and feel.We wanted to show the impact of what a possible threatening bacterial infection could have from three perspectives: the patient (and the sense of urgency), the technicians, and the instruments themselves.Imagination around your needs
How can we let the audience feel what we are talking about? Get them to relate to the sense of urgency? By visualizing the threat that could be lurking around the corner. With high-end CGI we managed to show the hauntingly oppressing feel of harmful bacteria growing inside the body. Combining it with footage of people who are seemingly not okay. But luckily it all ends well. The movie takes a turn for the better. Because it seems the bacteria were growing in a controlled BD Kiestra Smart Incubator.“We really liked visualizing the world of harmful bacteria, and make it look like a threatening army only to reveal later on, it was growing in a controlled BD Kiestra Smart Incubator.”
Due to Covid-19, all big launch events were postponed. Therefore we decided to create a digital campaign to target as many people as we can. A microsite was created and a social media campaign was launched with teaser trailers and paid advertisements to drive as much traffic to the microsite as possible.
“It’s particularly satisfiying that the movie can even be watched without a voice-over. That’s how strong the images work together.”
